Font ideas

Here are a few font ideas that we designed in order to determine the sort of ideas we wanted visually. We also looked at other artists names and fonts, such as Ellie Goulding.

We really liked this font and colour schemes, as we thought it stood out well and caught the audiences attention.

We also really like Lana Del Rey's font, as we think it is simple, yet effective. We think that the simpler the better, and like the fact that all the letters are the same size. We also realised that its good to be unique.

Textual Analysis

Camera-
There is a lot of camera work used in this video which highlights a few factors that we would like to use in our video. For example the camera angles throughout the video change and allows the audience to see all the prospectuses of what is going on, making sure they don't miss out on anything. There are a lot of close ups which show the true emotions on the actors faces, we need this in our video to show the audience that the girl being abused in the video is in true heart breaking pain. As well as that we feel that the slow zooms in and out are very effective and give a more real effect as it slowly shows the audience what is around them and how it is disappearing.

Mise en scene-
The costumes in the video are all very similar, grey. This shows that everyone is the same and there are no outsiders. Also the costumes represent the theme of the song as it is quite a sad depressing song they use a dull colour so that no emotions through costumes are highlighted.
The lighting in the video is often brighter when there are happy moments but darker when they are sad, we would want to use this in our video as well to help the audience know that the boyfriend is bad and how he has a 'devil side'.

Editing-
The cuts within this video is constantly going between the narrative and the singer which moves the tension away from the sad parts, this is a good idea as we want our song to be sad and have a message but however we do not want our audience to be sad the whole time watching it. So constantly cutting between the two keeps the emotions neutral.

Sound-
The genre of our song is 'indie pop' and we feel like this song is a good example of that as the motion of the song is like ours with the constant up and down of pitches. We picked a song like this as we did not want our song to be the same pitch the whole way through as we thought it may get boring and the audience would suddenly become uninterested. Due to this we picked one with a high pitched parts which would really draw the attention of the audience.
