Tour Poster

To help promote our Artist Luella even more we have designed a tour poster with all the upcoming dates that Luella will be performing. We have based the poster on our synergy (red roses) so that the audience will know what to expect when watching Luella.

Artist tour poster research

Every artist, if they go on tour, should have a poster. This instantly makes it easier for the fans to access information about the tour, including venues, artist information and dates. Below are a few examples that we found:

Each artist's poster is different. We researched and found that each poster has an image of the artist in  common. This is a type of advertising, to ensure that the audience members have a clear understanding of who the artist is and what tour it is for. Each poster has its own individuality, usually representing the album and music that they will be performing. Colours are also vital, as Justin Bieber now a days, usually sticks to blacks and whites, so it creates a synergy for the audience, instantly making them recognise the artist. Font is also key, making it clear and visible.

Performance Inspiration

We decided that it would be best to have a shoot with a black background and hanging lights, which we thought would seem simple but effective. This idea would mean that it would represent the theme of the song, being sadness, but the lights would represent a slight glimmer of hope. We also researched a variety of images and lights, of what we thought would be more appropriate and these were the images that we were most inspired by:

Current website and development

Website address:

http://meganlucythomas36.wixsite.com/luellaofficialx

The website home page has developed into this. We much preferred this background, as we felt it represented the artist well, and the pictures looked professional and eye catching. We also felt it was best to stick to our synergy colour, therefore decided to incorporate a burgundy colour theme throughout. On the main page, we thought it was a good idea to have the album cover, as well as a website introduction. The tour dates also play a bold part, as we want the audience to pay and book tickets for Luella's tours. We also thought that it would look professional to include images of the magazine front cover and inside issue, as it is something we researched and found would be on the home page.

Here is an image of our 'media' page. We decided to have this as the background, as we thought the picture stood out, as a pose to the previous idea of just a red rose. We felt that the colours really complimented each other and would catch the audiences attention well. We then decided to put more details about the album, and underneath 'VIDEOS' would be where our Devil Side music video would go. As you also scroll down the page, you can also see a video of the BBC interview and live lounge, as well as a quote from Luella herself.

Another page that we chose to develop was the 'Shop' page. The items that we chose for this page, are all items that we felt were relevant to Luella's image and character. We also wanted to ensure that the prices were reasonable, as Luella is essentially a 'New' and 'Upcoming'

Props for Artists set

Above are some props we will be purchasing so that we can use it in our shots where the artists will be singing. The idea is that the singer will be in front of  a black screen where lights will hang down behind her to brighten up the scene and make it more unique. This allows more focus on the artist herself and creates a mood that goes with the song. We also want to have some on the floor as well just so that it lights the artist up more so that they are able to clearly see what she is wearing and what she looks like.

Bedroom Shot for the narrative

The red colour from the curtains, carpet and bed sheets match our synergy for the artist. We wanted to also include it in the narrative as well as having red roses around the artist. This allows us to know that our synergy will be very obvious and the audience will automatically know.

Feedback from peers - Midpoint evaluation

After presenting our mid evaluation power point, we asked our peers to give us feedback, in order for us to improve. We received a lot of helpful information  that we will definitely use going forward. For example, a lot of people told us to change the font in our digipak in order to make it clearer. This is something that we aim to do going forward. We also got told that it was best to change our singing/performance location, in order to fit with our synergy more. Therefore, we plan to re-shoot our performance sections, in order to improve it further. Overall we received positive comments, but it was helpful to hear criticism also.

Preparations for weather

When filming outside it was important for our filming to be in dry and sunny weather as our camera worked best in bright lighting so that every detail was easily captured and the quality was to its best. However during the sad and angry scenes we would not be bothered if it was raining or gloomy as it would go with the effect that we were trying to get across when the mans 'devil side' is coming out.
Although if the weather was dull at a time we are meant to film in a bright environment then we always have the other option of brining our own lights so that the illusion can still be there.

Preparation for filming

When filming in Bond Street Chelmsford we had to take into account the people in the background and how they may not want to be in our video. Instead of asking who wanted to be in it and who didn't we decided to film in quiet places so that this was not necessary. We also felt this would be better as we wanted our audience to have more concentration on the couple being happy and laughing.

We also had to make sure we got none of the shops names in the background as advertising without permission can be illegal and we would have had to make sure we asked them before hand and got their permission.

However we also went to film in Saracens Head Hotel Bar.
When filming here we went into the Bar and asked a local manager if we were able to film just outside, to our delight they said yes and so we were able to get a number of different shots within the area and inside.
