Our Music Video

For our genre being ‘Pop’ we found that all these genres have specific themes, synergy or a specific look. For example Jessie J has her hair style as a black bob and that is what everyone then refers to her as. For our artist we wanted a specific look but we decided to focus more on the synergy and highlight the use of the red roses.

We decided to have our theme as the red roses as we felt they were very girly but also dangerous due to the colour red. Our artist is not a particularly girly girl but nor is she a tom boy. We wanted her to be like any other person so that she came across homely and more friendly to the audience.

After gathering our first draft feedback we realised what we needed  to do / change in order to make it better. We need to enhance the quality of the images so that they look bolder and clearer, this will make the images look more professional. I will also change the writing so that all the fonts are the same and the colours all match, this links each image of the digipak with each other. The picture on the bottom left will need to be changed so that it links in with our synergy more as it has no relation to our theme of red roses. I will change this to a picture of bright red roses.

We found our final feedback really good as it allowed us to know the things we did really well and then the things we did not do so well. In the future we would make sure nothing of our digipak will be blank as that was one of the negative comments. We would also change the theme / synergy as we felt it was quite a struggle, so would be nice to have a variety of themes that we would have been able to put all into one. We also felt that if we had done a more 'Indie' pop artist than this would have allowed us to venture out more into making a far more quirky digipak.

Feedback on our first draft of Devil side-

We originally showed our first draft to our classmates back in November/December. This really helped us in what needed to be improved for our final one, these are a few feedback points we gathered-

• Narrative was really convincing and done well.
• Lip syncing was good.
• Roses link well with the synergy.
• Not enough of Luella singing - narrative takes up too much.
• Lighting does not fit the mood.
• Quality could be better.

Following the feedback we received, we changed a few things such as the lighting as we made it overall darker so that it would fit more with the songs mood. When doing this we were able to boost the quality of the footage also. We added more shots of Luella singing so that her and the narrative could be equal. As seen below.

This feedback was really helpful and allowed us to know how we had done. After reading the feedback and knowing how much they liked it and what exactly they liked, it was a great confidence booster and we now know we can do it again but better. The negative comments have only helped us in realizing what we can do to improve.

We gathered a group of people to watch our music video, they then gave creative feedback as shown on the sheets below. We printed out our surveys and handed them to everyone who watched it.

After gathering the feedback from the surveys we found out that mostly all of our audience enjoyed our music video and felt that it looked professional. They also all had similar feedback saying how they wish there could be more locations for the singer and the narrative. This feedback has really helped us in understanding what everyone thinks about our music video and what they think would need to be done in order to improve it.

To conclude, we found our audience feedback really helpful as we were able to see our progress through all our work. Allowing us to not only acknowledge the bad things but also the good things and how we are able to now know what we can do in the future. We were able to also understand our audience more and what they really liked, this allows us to target them more making sure they enjoy our music video. The surveys helped us to really see what the audience thought and what they wanted to see more of, they also put their opinions of what were the best moments and what were the worst. We found it really nice to hear what their favourite moments were and we found it very useful to take the criticism on what they thought could be improved.
